Dr. Nicole Sereda was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She has always had a passion for animals and begged her parents for a pet since she was old enough to talk.
Throughout her childhood she cared for a variety of pets including hamster, guinea pigs, a parottlet and a dog.
She received her Bachelors of Environmental Sciences with a concentration in Biology from the University of Texas at Brownsville while attending on a soccer scholarship. While completing her Bachelors degree, Dr. Sereda decided veterinary medicine was her true calling.
She gained a variety of animal experience through working at a pet store, volunteering at a small animal clinic and a wildlife rehabilitation centre.
She went on to graduate with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2020 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Dr. Sereda moved to the Fraser Valley in 2020 to escape the cold, prarie winters. (Ask her how she feels that's working out for her this winter!!)
Although Dr. Sereda enjoys all the varied aspects of veterinary medicine, her interests lie mainly in exotic animal medicine. She particularly enjoys working with wildlife and companion small mammals and birds. In her free time Dr. Sereda can be found hanging out with her dog Bali whether that be hiking throughout the Fraser Valley or curled up on the couch watching true crime documentaries. She also enjoys reading, baking and watching hockey games.
